Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are made up of highly purified fragments of DNA extracted from wild salmon or trout sperm. The trout used are the same as used for food. Salmon and trout sperm DNA closely resembles human DNA. It is perfectly safe, as the Polynucleotides are highly purified then sterilized from a licensed source, the production is regulated and the manufacture meets required CE Standards of safety. All of the protein molecules are removed so there is no risk of allergy. The Polynucleotides are distilled into a range of strengths and suspended in water for injection. A topical numbing cream will be applied prior to injecting, to make it as comfortable as possible. Multiple small doses are injected into the superficial layer of the skin of the targeted area, using either a very small fine needle or a cannula. A course of three or four treatments 3 weeks apart is recommended to achieve optimum results.

Unlike skin boosters, results are not instant. You can expect to start seeing an improvement from about three weeks and continues to improve over a 12 week period. Skin will appear smoother and better hydrated with an improved texture. Scarring can be improved with less depth, smaller and better colour. When hair loss is targeted, new hair growth can be noted and existing hair will be healthier.

Results will vary for each individual as the outcome is dependent upon the biological response to the individual and also lifestyle factors.

Longevity varies between individuals. Polynucleotides do not stop the ageing process, therefore a maintenance treatment is recommended evey six months. Lifestyle factors can affect longevity. If you choose not to maintain results with further treatment, your skin will return to how it was initially, over time.

Profhilo Structura®

Profhilo Structura® regenerates the structure of the skin. Profhilo Structura® goes one layer below, into the subcutaneous fat. It is a regenerative skin treatment that targets the deeper structural changes in the face caused by ageing. It contains both high and low molecular weight Hyaluronic acid to restore adipose tissue with a total of 90mg of hyaluronic acid in a 2ml pre filled syringe.

Profhilo Structura® differs to dermal fillers as dermal fillers physically replace lost fat with a synthetic hyaluronic acid-based gel. Structura® stimulates the restoration of your fat pats, not replication of them. It regenerates the tissue whilst giving similar results to some filler treatments.

Profhilo Structura® is currently used to treat subcutaneous fat loss in the face only. Its primary purpose is to address facial sinking and sagging.


It’s arguably safer than filler and has regenerative ongoing benefits as well as more shorter-term results. At Consultation, Nikki will carefully examine your skin to ensure you are suitable candidate and assess whether you are a “sinker” or “sagger”.

Profhilo Structura® is injected into the superficial fat compartment using a cannula which will also help to reduce discomfort. Depending on whether you are a “sinker” or “sagger” will depend on the exact placement of the product. 1ml will be placed on each side of the face.
Treatments initially involve two sessions, 30 days apart, followed by maintenance appointments where needed. Results should last around 4 months. Assuming these two treatments are carried out as directed, from your first Profhilo Structura® treatment, you will require a follow-up at 5 months.

The treatment area can appear slightly bumpy and raised post treatment. As with any injectable treatment, there is a risk of bruising. Do not massage the area. Any swelling should reduce by the following day. An after care advice sheet will be given to you following treatment. Longevity varies between individuals. 

Line Softening

Start from: £160
This is a prescription only medicine and is known as Botulinum toxin (Botox TM). It is a purified form of protein which is a type of toxin.
 
As we reach in our 30’s we produce less collagen and begin to lose some skin elasticity so lines and wrinkles start to show. When we make facial expressions a chemical substance called acetylcholine is released by the nerve endings which then sends signals to our muscles to contract. The Botulinum toxin (Botox TM) is injected in very small amounts which temporarily blocks the signals to stop the contraction of the muscles. This in turn prevents the formation of our lines and wrinkles.
 
The treatment is non-surgical, quick and effective. Areas treated include; frown lines (between the eyes), horizontal forehead lines, crows feet (around the eyes) bunny lines (nose) and also a gummy smile. Nikki at The Aesthetic Place will leave you looking refreshed, revitalised and rejuvenated.

Whilst everyone loves a party, it is not an appropriate environment to have a medical procedure. Often no medical history is taken or the consent form has been signed under the influence of alcohol (which also greatly increases the risk of bleeding after a treatment), not to mention the issue of consenting to a medical procedure whilst under the influence of alcohol!
 
All treatments begin with an initial consultation with Nikki who is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Nurse Prescriber, during which she will take a full medical history to ensure your suitability, and will discuss the benefits and any potential side effects. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. As this treatment requires a prescription and Nurses are unable to hold stock, treatment will not be carried out the same day as your consultation.
 
Treatment takes between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on how many areas you are having treated.
Side effects are uncommon. Some redness and the possibility of bruising at injection site may occur. The rarest side effect is a lowering of the upper brow or eyelid, which can occur when frown/forehead muscles are over injected. These are discussed at both your consultation and day of treatment.
After your treatment you can return to your normal daily activities immediately, although it is recommended that you avoid exercise for 4 hours and do not massage the treated area for 24 hours. After care information will be given to you to take home.
 
A review appointment is recommended 2 weeks after your treatment, to make sure that you have the results you were looking for. Any adjustments will be carried out at this time and are free of charge.

Under Arm Sweating

Under arm sweating can sometimes be caused by a medical condition. This should always be excluded in the first instance by a visit to your GP.
 
Nikki at The Aesthetic Place is able to treat under arm sweating also known as hyperhidrosis for cosmetic reasons only and providing there are no underlying medical conditions causing this. Botulinum toxin is injected into the skin and temporarily blocks the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands.
 
Results last between 4 and 6 months – available for cosmetic reasons for the underarm area only.

The same product used for line softening is injected. It works by blocking a chemical in the body that activates the sweat glands.

The underarms are cleaned and the hair line is marked out in small grids. Numbing cream can be applied if requested, although generally not needed. Tiny injections are then made within the grid.

Skin Peel

Skin peels are designed to improve the tone, texture and clarity of skin. They have been shown to reduce or eliminate age spots, freckles, rosacea and hyper-pigmentation (darkened areas of skin), including melasma; soften lines and wrinkles; clear acne skin conditions; reduce or eliminate acne scars. By stimulating the production of collagen, it results in firmer, radiant and more youthful skin.

AHA peels contain Glycolic acid, (exfoliates the epidermis) and stimulates the growth of new skin, they also contain other ingredients to treat the following skin concerns:

After one treatment of the Perfect Peel, overall skin tone and complexion will appear smooth, glowing and fresh. Depending on skin conditions, multiple treatments may be necessary for desired results. The Perfect Peel requires no preconditioning of the skin prior to treatment. Only those patients who use Accutane must stop usage 3 months prior to treatment in order to achieve desired results.

The amount of peeling skin associated with The Perfect Peel is mainly a sloughing of thin sheets of epidermis skin that begins around day three and generally is completed by day six or seven.

Bio Spicule Therapy

Microneedling

As we age, the natural production of the skin’s supporting cells, fibroblasts, and the skin’s collagen and elastin, start to diminish leading to wrinkles, sagging and hollow looking skin.

Penetrating the skin with tiny needles causes minor trauma which promotes the body’s natural healing response to stimulate collagen production. Collagen keeps the skin plump and supports the mid-section of the face, but production slows over time which can cause skin to deflate and sag. The tightening effects of microneedling are visible within a few days.
The skin is cleaned and a topical anaesthetic cream can be applied if required.
 
A bespoke serum is used to glide the device across the skin. Once treatment is complete an SPF is applied prior to you leaving the clinic.
Some redness of the skin is normal following the procedure. The skin may also feel dry for a few days afterwards, however applying a good serum post treatment will help.
 
It is advisable to apply your normal SPF and keep out of the sun.
 
Avoid saunas and steam rooms for 2 weeks. After care information will be given to you prior to you leaving clinic.
It can take up to 6 weeks to see results as that’s how long it takes for new collagen to form. After 1-3 weeks your texture and tone will improve and any pigmentation will start to lift. After 6 weeks you’ll notice an improvement to the appearance of lines, wrinkles and scarring.
 
It is recommended a course of 3 – 6 treatments for maximum results spaced 4 – 6 weeks apart.

Fat Dissolving Injections

This simple and effective procedure shrinks double chins as well as improving the definition of the jawline. However fat dissolving injections can be used anywhere on the body, these injections are a proven treatment which aids in the dramatic reduction of bodily fat deposits. The deoxycholic attaches itself to the membrane of fat cells in the area of injection. It then starts to dissolve the membrane surrounding the cells. As a result, the fat cell becomes unstable, causing it to break open. The fatty acids contained within the cell are then forced out by macrophages, which are a part of the body’s immune system. Finally, the fat is then eliminated from the body by the liver.
 
Although the fat doesn’t come back, these injections should only be used as a supplement to a healthy lifestyle, and is only intended for dealing with small pockets of fat rather than for providing a complete weight loss solution.
Some swelling, bruising and tenderness can be expected for 2-3 weeks after treatment.
You will start to notice an improvement in anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks. For moderate fat pockets two to four treatments are required 4-6 weeks apart.

Skin Boosters

‘Skin boosters’ are often referred to as Mesotherapy. They are an injectable treatment to deliver deep skin hydration. 

Skin boosters / mesotherapy results don’t have the dramatic impact that can be associated with the better known non-surgical treatments such as fillers although they can help to smooth out lines and wrinkles by adding subtle volume and gently plumping the skin. They don’t ‘freeze’ the features or stop muscle movement (like line softening treatments).

Skin booster injections are a soft, gel-like substance called Hyaluronic Acid (HA). This is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin and holds incredible amounts of moisture. However, it depletes with age, which is what causes skin to appear lined or loose with a dryer texture. Some of the Skin boosters offered contain amino acids and anti oxidants.

Micro injections of deeply hydrating hyaluronic acid restores the moisture in the skin, which improves its elasticity, firmness and radiance. It also triggers the skin’s own repair and tightening mechanisms, which enhances the result.

The skin will be cleansed and a topical numbing cream will be applied to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Tiny injections are made to the area(s) of concern. Upon completion, the face will be cleansed again and an SPF will be applied prior to leaving clinic.
You may experience a slight discomfort during treatment, however a topical numbing cream can be applied if necessary. The injection sites may leave some small bumps and redness, and there may be some bleeding, however this is only temporary and should resolve with 24 hours.
Nikki will advise you of all the do’s and don’t’s, but as a general rule you should avoid wearing makeup immediately after your treatment to allow your skin to settle, keep out of the sun and avoid saunas and steam rooms for 2 weeks. Applying an SPF50 is essential.
A course of three sessions is recommended and usually at 3-4 weeks apart.
Results last on average six months to a year; however, after an initial course, the recommendation is for a single treatment every six months to maintain skin quality.

Profhilo TM This has the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid within this category of treatments and also plays a role in bio remodelling of the skin. It has proven to show great results in those who suffer from skin laxity. Two treatments are needed to see the full effects.
Teoysal Redensity 1 TM A perfect all-rounder, which can be used in any age category. Its unique formula contains not only hyaluronic acid but eight amino acids, three antioxidants, two minerals and one vitamin – all ingredients that are naturally present in our skin. We recommend a course of three to four treatments at 2 weeks apart.
ID Clinica Light TM 20mg/ml of Hyaluronic acid, perfect for fine lines and wrinkles, hydration, firming, lifting and glowing skin.We recommend a course of three treatments.

Dermal Filler

As we grow older, our skin loses moisture, elasticity and collagen. Dermal fillers can help restore the ageing face and helps to enhance our natural features. The product used (Hyaluronic acid) is found naturally in our bodies and it is a hydrophilic molecule, (loves water), which means its water loving nature is critical to the skins’ moisture levels.

Nikki at The Aesthetic place only uses premium brands of filler which is injected in small controlled doses under the surface of skin in the area to be treated. Fillers are not permanent. How long they last depends on things like the type of filler and where it’s injected. They usually last between 6 and 18 months.

Profhilo

Profhilo is hyaluronic acid which is injected into the skin. It does not give volume like other dermal fillers, instead, it spreads beneath the skin like golden honey, stimulating collagen and elastin. It provides an instant, smoother, glowing and tighter looking skin. This is a course of two treatments at 4 weeks apart. Repeat treatments at around every 4-6 months are recommended to maintain your new, hydrated skin.
 
Two treatments are recommended to prolong the effect, one month apart. However in certain skin and older clients they may need 3 treatments, this will be determined at the consultation.

AVOID for 48-72 hours:

  • Hot showers, baths, saunas, or strenuous exercise.
  • Alcohol and smoking (they hinder healing and collagen production).
  • Skincare with retinol, acids (AHA/BHA), or vitamin C.
  • Facial treatments (peels, microneedling, etc.) for at least 2 weeks.

Follow-Up

  • You may notice improvements from 2-3 weeks, with best results at 8-12 weeks.
  • A follow-up session may be advised depending on your treatment goals.
